Week 49 Moose Jammies

This week was interesting!!

So we had some good stuff happen this week.

We in person District Council again, our elders are awesome! 🙌🏻

Update: Braden is back! He had a rough week, but he wants to keep meeting with us! Yay!!!

We got a call from our Mission presidents wife this week. She asked if we would be willing to help out with our Zone Facebook page. Basically we do all of the responding to people and friending non members who like the page or one of our advertisements. It sounded way more stressful than it actually is. Its a lot of fun and I can see the Spirit working with us to know what to say to each person and how to help them. A few people have blocked us though, so thats fun👍🏻😂 it's been really good to have some more things to do, our area has been a little slow and our teaching pool has been dwindling a little bit. But we know that no effort is wasted and if we keep working hard we will see the blessings come.

We had a mission discussion with President Vest and he talked about sustaining our leaders. It was amazing! He shared the forgotten parable from D&C 101, check it out. It outlines a group of servants being told by the Lord of the Vineyard to go protect his vinyard with a hedge and watchman and to build a tower. The servants went and started the preparations and then they started murmuring as they were building the tower and saying, "why would the Lord of the Vinyard need a watchtower, it's a time of peace" so they only built part of it. Well sure enough, the enemy came and destroyed part of the vineyard and the servants were chastened. They now realized that the Lord of the Vineyard knew best and they proceeded to do everything he commanded with Exactness. The moral of the story is, when God's Prophets tell us to do something, we need to listen. They speak directly from God, for us at this specific time. DO NOT IGNORE THE COUNCIL OF THE PROPHET. President Vest invited us to follow the prophet more closely by following, with exactness, the missionary handbook because it was written by the Prophets and Apostles. I have taken this challenge and I know that I will see blessings as I follow the prophet.

My invitation to you all is to pick one thing the prophet has counciled us to do in the recent year and apply it in your life. I promise as you do this there will be more peace in your life even as the world becomes more chaotic.

Okay, now for the subject line. The best part of the week. We had a Devotional on Saturday night with our mission. President Vest has an 8 year old and he was wearing, pajamas..... MOOSE JAMMIES! It was so cute! He was so proud of his Moose Jammies and he wanted to show the whole mission❤😭

Love you all! Have a great week! And Happy September!

P.S. I will have been gone for a year on the 25th...😳 Time flies when you are having fun!
